Funny how your life can change in the blink of an eye. My partner and I have decided to split up, which leaves me searching for a new home. Yes, it’s hard and yes, the situation is complicated but I really think it’s better for the both of us to stop the negative spiral we entered some while ago and focus on our own happiness. A new chapter for us both. During the proces I took on walking again, and it made me realize how much I love being outside and clearing my head. And that’s when it hit me: I am going to walk to Santiago de Compostela!

Wait what? A pilgrimage? Yes. I will walk 264 kilometers from Porto to Santiago. I know, most girls just get a haircut and a rebound after breaking up a relationship… Not me. I figured that there is no better time to challenge myself to do something so difficult than now. Clear my head, focus on taking one step at a time and just.. walk. It seems perfect. So, I started training two weeks ago and I did my first 30 KM walk this week. I should be ready for the Camino in about 10 weeks, but I decided to actually start my trip in September, when the worst heat is over and the roads are less busy. This will give me some time to figure things out and to fully prepare myself physically and mentally to what lies ahead. It will be a long road but I’m ready. <3
