Ha, I knew you were curious! We probably have a lot in common. So who am I? Sounds like I’m having an identity crisis here. I can assure you, that’s not the case. People do tell me they think I’m a bit crazy though… Let me introduce my blog:
What you’ll find on my blog
Most blogs I love to read have one obvious direction, mine does not. I have never been good at making up my mind so I guess I’ll just go with the flow here. I love to write about my travel adventures, but why ignore my love for horror movies? Well, you’ll get the point. If you are anything like me -meaning you love to travel, watch scary movies, cuddle with cats and love to drink wine with friends- I’m pretty sure my blog will keep you entertained.
The girl behind Pattycular.com:
My name is Patty, I’m thirty-something and I live in the Netherlands. As you can probably tell by the photo, I love my cat Bandhu who has been my best friend for 7 years now. I’ve had many different jobs, from waitress to account manager and from pirate to Laser-tag host. I recently decided to turn my life around and start doing what I love most: Showing people around in my favorite Dutch city Rotterdam. I’m now a full-time city guide, and the proud owner of Urban Gems!
Traveling is my passion and I try to explore new places as often as I can. As a kid, I dreamed about discovering the world on my own. When I was 21, I needed a well-deserved holiday, but none of my friends were able to join me. That’s when I decided to finally take the big step and travel by myself; I went to a book store, closed my eyes, picked a travel guide (that turned out to be about India) and I booked my ticket to New Delhi.
The only thing I had arranged was a hotel for the first night and after that, I was on my own and I was terrified. How it went? I got sick, I hated it, I cried a lot and then I got my shit together. The experience changed me in a way I can’t even begin to explain and I’m so thankful for everything it gave me! And yes, that includes the travel bug. If I have to pick a favorite country, I would say Nepal. The mountains are magical, the people are kind and the Dal Bhat is soooooo good.
